    The reading passage shows that schools in the US are historically graded school systems. The systems are divided into : primary grades, intermediate grades and secondary grades. However, the professor in the lecture doubts that this school system is not a really sufficient one for some following reasons.
    Firstly, the graded school systems don't take differences in individual learning. The professor points out that there can be many differences in each individual, such as: A teenage girl or boy has so many differences in physical majority. However, boys and girls still be grouped together in a graded school system that we must forgot about the differences and learn the same thing.
    Secondly, the graded school systems don't deal with the whole issue positively. There can be some special cases that need to fix the issue. For example,  children start going to primary schools at six years old, though, some children may be able to learn very quickly and can go to school at the age of four or five already. That means if  some people need more time to learn or to learn quickly, they will have to wait for others. If they already knew about the lessons in their grade, they still have to repeat it everyday with other classmates.
    In conclusion, the reading passage shows that the graded school systems in the USA has been used not only in the country, but also in other foreign countries for a long time. In contrast, the professor in the lecture points out that there can be some reasons that this system is not a deal for everyone, because it has some reasons that can limit the learner's abilities. The 2 reasons are: graded school system doesn't consider differences of individual learning, and doesn't deal with the learning issue efficently at all.
